Sewing Machine Maintenance Leader

Their ability to perform at their peak relies on the seamless operation of the equipment they use every day. To keep our production machinery in optimal working condition, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Machine Maintenance Leader to join our Manufacturing team based in Maputsoe, Lesotho.

In this critical role, you will take full ownership of all production equipment, ensuring its functionality and reliability across our manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include technical problem-solving, preventative maintenance, parts procurement and spearheading machinery innovation - all to maximise our production performance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the maintenance of all production machinery across our facilities, including seven factories, pre-production and customisation areas, a print shop and a state-of-the-art laundry facility.
• Proactively assessing machinery performance for optimal functionality.
• Leading a team of mechanics and technical support staff.
• Coordinating with external service providers when necessary.

Essential skills and experience that will make you a solid fit for this role:

• A qualification in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics would be advantageous)
• Extensive hands-on experience in a senior maintenance role in the apparel manufacturing industry
• Proven ability to lead and develop a large team of mechanics and technical support staff
• Expertise in the latest generation of sewing machines equipped with advanced automation
• In-depth knowledge of specialised supporting machinery, including cutting room equipment, printing and embroidery equipment
• A forward-thinking approach to identifying and implementing the latest garment construction and manufacturing innovations
• Take charge of equipment maintenance and repair tasks - efficiently, successfully and cost-effectively
• Experience in managing parts procurement, controlling expenditure and working closely with suppliers
