About this opportunity:
We are looking for an Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) Professional to serve as the primary spokesperson for EHS matters within our customer in Egypt and manage environmental, health, and safety protocols in the account. This role also involves acting as a functional EHS Manager for all officers and overseeing EHS programs across the CSS unit.
What you will do:
EHS Manager and SPOC (75% of the time)
- Address customer and local regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance within Ericssons OHS framework
- Apply Contractor Management processes to ensure compliance with Ericsson and customer standards, covering selection, evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking
- Ensure proper EHS integration for new field operations, including internal and external team members
- Monitor and identify deviations from EHS standards by external ASPs and internal field operations
- Supervise, control, and report EHS performance and inspection results, including internal project audits and supplier assessments
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries, communications, and escalations from the customer
- Communicate the customers specific EHS requirements and expectations to relevant internal teams
- Demonstrate compliance with the customers contractual and policy requirements
- Prepare and submit EHS performance data, incident reports, audit results, and compliance documentation to the customer
- Coordinate and facilitate customer EHS audits or assessments at company facilities
- Manage the resolution of EHS concerns, non-conformances, or corrective action requests raised by the customer
- Relay customer feedback regarding EHS performance into the companys EHS management system for continuous improvement
- Implement the EHS governance framework to ensure its effectiveness
Functioning EHS Manager & EHS Program Leader (25% of the time)
- Collaborate with the EHS SME team within the Market Area to develop EHS policies and plans for the Managed Services unit
- Monitor the EHS performance of accounts and provide technical expertise for incident investigations
- Conduct effective investigation analysis, reporting, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor emergency preparedness and response management and track the execution of EHS plans and programs as part of EHS governance
- Analyse and consolidate critical incidents (fatalities, accidents, and HIPO) across the CSS unit to ensure proper identification and resolution
- Recognized formal OHS/Environment qualification, e.g., degree or diploma in OHS Health and Safety Management or NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
- 10+ years of experience implementing EHS management systems in matrixed, multicultural, and multi-geographical environments.
- Robust understanding of compliance requirements, monitoring guidelines, and standards, e.g., ISO9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 45001.
- Proven experience in conducting formal incident investigations.
- Experience in Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity.
- Sound knowledge of Middle Eastern countries environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
- Experience in organizing and delivering HSE training internally and to subcontractors.
- Proven experience in evaluating, monitoring, and managing subcontractor performance.
- Experience in developing EHS documentation, e.g., OHS plans, risk assessments, method statements.
- Experience in leading teams or advising senior personnel on EHS activities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a customer-first approach.
- Telecom field understanding and experience, including customer and market insight, maintenance services delivery processes, models, and strategies.
- Excellent spoken and written skills with English and ability to write high-standard reports, articles, and audit reports.
- Excellent communication, persuasion, and influencing skills; team player able to build relationships with peers and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; results-oriented and accountable.
- Strong presentation, business partnership, and negotiation skills.
- Adapts well to changing priorities and conditions; works well under pressure in emergent situations
