Plant Manager

Ensure Efficient and High-Quality Production.

• Oversee all production processes, ensuring smooth and efficient operations that meet daily, weekly and seasonal production targets.
• Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to maintain product integrity, consistency, and compliance with customer expectations.
• Optimize production planning and workflow to maximize throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and eliminate product loss or waste.
• Ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging, and resources to meet production schedules without delays.

Drive Operational excellence and Continuous Improvement.

• Identify inefficiencies in production, processing and packaging and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
• Lead and encourage a culture of continuous improvement, using methodologies like Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to enhance processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to introduce automation, digitalization, and process innovations that improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor Key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, efficiency, and downtime, and take corrective actions when necessary.

Ensure Compliance with Safety, Food Standards, and Regulatory Requirements.

• Establish and enforce strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and industry regulatory standards, including HAZZP, BRC, ISO, and local government regulations.
• Promote and sustain a sustain a strong Safety culture by implementing proactive safety measures and conducting regular training for employees.
• Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate operational hazards
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability for production activities to meet legal and customer requirements

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team.

• • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled workforce capable of handling seasonal production demands while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Foster a work environment that encourages accountability, teamwork, and continuous skill development.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and implement performance management strategies to ensure high employee engagement.
  • Ensure effective shift planning and workforce utilization to meet operational demands efficiently.

Manage Costs, Budgets, and Resource Utilization.

• • Develop, manage, and control the plants operating budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets and cost-saving objectives.
  • Implement cost-control measures across production, and labor to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Monitor raw material usage, minimizing waste and improving yield to ensure cost-effective production.
  • Analyze financial reports and operational data to make informed decisions that enhance plant efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditures.

Ensure Equipment Reliability and Facility Maintenance.

• • Oversee the maintenance and reliability of Sorting, Sizing, production, processing, and packaging machinery to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure proper calibration and servicing of equipment to maintain product quality and safety standards.
  • Plan and oversee infrastructure upgrades, renovations, or expansions and coordinate with PMO to support the long-term operational needs of the plant.

Support Business Growth and Innovation

• • Collaborate with commercial and supply chain teams to introduce new products and support market expansion strategies.
  • Drive innovation in processing, packaging, and technology adoption to enhance the competitiveness of the plants product offerings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in date processing and packaging to maintain a competitive edge. Contribute to strategic planning by providing insights on operational capabilities, scalability, and investment needs.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Agriculture) or Food Science

• 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or Agri-processing industries
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Plant Manager or Operations Manager)
• Proven track record in managing Seasonal Operations and high-volume food processing (preferably in date processing, dried fruits, or similar industries).
• Experience in multi-site management is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of OEE, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Food Safety and Compliance with international standards (BRC, ISO 22000, GMP, SMETA).

Experience in Industry 4.0 is a strong advantage.
