job summary:

The Export Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the export of goods, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of shipments. This role involves close collaboration with production, sales, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and clients to ensure smooth export operations, particularly in handling heavy and sensitive products like marble and granite.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and track export shipments from order confirmation to final delivery.
• Prepare and verify export documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, etc.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping lines for booking and tracking containers.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and INCOTERMS.
• Manage VGM (Verified Gross Mass) submissions and ensure accurate container weight compliance.
• Handle LC (Letter of Credit) documentation and banking requirements when applicable.
• Communicate with clients and overseas agents regarding shipment status and document flow.
• Monitor and minimize costs related to shipping, customs, and penalties (demurrage, detention, etc.).
• Follow up with ports, carriers, and customs clearance agents to avoid delays.
• Handle claims for damages, loss, or delays with insurance companies or carriers.
• Maintain accurate records of all export operations and documentation.

Industry-Specific Duties (Marble & Granite):

• Coordinate safe and efficient loading of stone slabs and blocks, considering weight distribution and container limits.
• Monitor packaging to prevent damage during handling and shipping.
• Manage documentation for specific destination requirements (e.g., fumigation certificates, quality certifications).
• Ensure correct HS codes and weight calculations for bulky and heavy cargo.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in export logistics (preferably in heavy goods or natural stone sectors).
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS, international shipping procedures, and customs regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo).
• Strong communication skills in English (and other languages is a plus).
