Data Governance Expert (VOIS)

As a Data Governance Engineer, you will play a key role in the Data Management team to drive the Data Governance implementation within Vodafone Networks. As a senior you will be responsible to contribute to the design and implementation of data quality, data catalogue and data privacy. You will drive data standardization and consistency across markets in line with data privacy & security guidelines and the Global Data Governance Policy. You will interface with various Group and Local Market Privacy and Security, as well as Data Stewards and Owners to ensure and secure compliance & legal approvals for data feed transfers, use case/data processing assessments and approvals. You will be responsible to define the Data Governance adoption KPIs and to ensure all data is catalogued. You will need to drive data quality improvement by leading the design and establishment of a data quality process and strategy for Vodafone and support aligning Vodafone Networks data sources towards a Common Information Model to harmonize data meanings and formats across different local markets.

• Lead the Data Catalogue design and implementation, ensuring total compliance with Data Governance Policies.
• Integrate all Data Management workstreams and initiatives in a coherent framework (quality, metadata, lineage, etc.).
• Thought leader to promote innovation within the Data Management team.
• Drive and maintain data security & privacy standards.
• Promote and embed a culture of data governance and data quality best practices into the engineering disciplines.
• Enable and deliver e2e data journey cataloguing through Vodafones Collibra deployment.

• More than 5 years of experience in data governance or data management, including roles and responsibilities, data quality and metadata management.
• Data Management certificates (CDMP/DAMA) is a plus
• Candidate needs to have a passion for Data Governance / Data Management as a foundation for data product fabrics
• Must be skilled in data privacy legislation (GDPR) and personal data management best practices.
• Knowledge of telecommunications networks and various industry applicable data sources (e.g. passive probing, radio traces, OSS network elements, etc.) is valued.
• Experienced in data management techniques (i.e. data profiling, data cleansing, data duplication, etc.).
• Experienced in data quality management techniques (i.e. KPI definition, KPI monitoring, etc.).
• Experience using statistical programming languages and packages (Python, PySpark, SQL) and able to get hands on with examining and cleansing large and complex data sets.
• Data cataloguing experience (Collibra desirable. Google Data Catalogue a plus).

• Engineering or Computer Science graduate is mandatory, or equivalent hands-on experience in data governance or data management.
• More than 5 years of working experience in the Data Governance/Data Management field
• Understanding of Telecommunications Networks and related data sources.
